2023 Joe Hepsworth Long Range Match

The 2023 Joe Hepsworth Long Range Black Powder Rifle Match will be held at at Camp Atterbury, IN., November 4th & 5th, 2023.

Shooting is at 1000, 1100 and 1200 yards. Permitted rifles: Any safe original or reproduction traditional muzzle loading or cartridge style firearm in the mid to late 1800's era of International Rifle Matches shooting black powder.

NRA(UK) Trafalgar Meeting 2023

Trafalgar Meeting, Bisley, Saturday 21st - Sunday 22nd October 2023. This is the premier UK event for historical firearms, and entries are now open. Link below.

Note also that following the Trafalgar Dinner there will be a 45 minute presentation from Neil Aspinshaw, celebrated expert on everything Martini Henry and author of acclaimed book "The Martini-Henry for Queen and Empire."

There will also be trade fair.

The origins of the Trafalgar Meeting date back to 1985 when the South London Rifle Club, with the support of Guns Review, introduced the inaugural Annual Open Meeting for Historic Arms. The name was later changed to The Trafalgar Meeting and taken on by the NRA of the UK.

Black Powder Target Rifle Match

September 9 & 10, 2023

Following is an announcement concerning the September Camp Atterbury all 1,000 yard black powder match.

Rifles - Any safe original or reproduction traditional muzzle loading or cartridge style firearm in the mid to late 1800's era of International Rifle Matches shooting black powder.

2023 BPTRA Creedmoor Nationals

5th Annual Creedmoor Nationals

This is the premiere longrange BPTR match in the Black Powder Target Rifle Association. 2 days of shooting 800, 900 and 1000 yards. Then we finish on Sunday with 2, 15 shot strings at 1000 yards. Look for the best BPTR competitors in the country to attend this event.

NMLRA's Terpstra/Swallow Long Range Match

800, 900, 1000 yards

10-11 June 2023, Camp Atterbury, IN.

Rifles - Any safe original or reproduction traditional muzzle loading or cartridge style firearm in the mid to late 1800's era of International Rifle Matches shooting black powder.

Course of Fire - Five relays over two days. 800, 900, and 1000 yards on Saturday. Two 1000 yards on Sunday. Ten shots for score at each relay. Unlimited sighters, last three converted for score in reverse order. Pair firing, one hour for two shooters. Targets are 6 x 10 ft.

2023 Dick Hoff Memorial Match

The 2023 Dick Hoff Memorial Target Rifle Mid-Range Match will be held on 13 May 2023, at Miami Rifle and Pistol Club, Cincinnati, OH.

Shooting is at 300 and 600 yards. Permitted rifles: Any safe original or reproduction traditional muzzle loading style of firearms fired from the shoulder in the mid - late 1800’s era of International Rifle Matches or breech loading single shot rifle chambered in an original black powder cartridge.

Please complete and return the registration form to arrive no later than 1 May 2023.

The is the Long Range Match run by Rick Weber, now focused on the 150th Anniversary of the Creedmoor Match of 1874, aka: Creedmoor 150. 

This year shooting will be 300 & 1000 on Friday, both supported and 600 supported & 1000 unsupported on Saturday. All relay times will be 1 hour min. 10 scored shots at each distance on proportional square Creedmoor targets.

Richard Fenton - Gunmaker
